Unusual wedding celebration
Many girls dream of a fairytale wedding at a castle with several hundred guests attending. Trude Vika is not one of them.

Trude (33) and Roar Vika (35) chose a somewhat unconventional wedding. In secret, they got married at the courthouse on Friday, only attended by their son Anders, the maid of honour and the best man. After becoming husband and wife, they proceeded to the park for wedding photos.
Got hungry
“Suddenly we felt hungry. We walked into town to find somewhere to eat, while joking about the hotdog vendor being an alternative for the wedding dinner,” Roar says.
Sure enough, the hotdog vendor was in place, thus the newlyweds shared a hotdog.
“With mustard and ketchup. It was absolutely delicious,” Roar continues.
At first, the vendor thought the couple was joking, but when he heard they had just got married;
“He treated us to the hotdog. Very kind of him,” Roar says.
“But Trude, most girls dream of a big fancy wedding, don’t they?”
“Hah, hah. Yes, I guess they do. Still we opted for the easiest solution, and I’m fine with that. Actually, this has been a very nice and enjoyable day,” Trude says.
The preparations for the wedding were not very thorough.
“I met up with Roar in town Friday morning and asked him to bring his dress suit. I changed my clothes in town and then we stopped by a café for a cup of coffee before heading for the courthouse,” Trude says.
New chief in the house
The couple has been together for three or four years, they are not quite sure. Still, long enough for the family to have a new addition.
“He is five months old and has become the new chief in the house. This was part of the reason why we wanted to make this simple – in addition to wanting to become a family, of course, Trude says.
A wedding was not the only event scheduled for this weekend, though. They have also squeezed in a baptism for five-month-old Anders.
“A wedding on Friday and baptism for our immediate families on Sunday. What a great weekend,” Roar says proudly.
