No one can win more that 250,000 Australian dollars or 1.2 million NOK a week.
One of two Centrebet is one of two net-based gaming companies where the fraudulent Bjarte Baasland has gambled away money borrowed from family and friends.
Altogether he has likely gambled away 60 million, according to his own information during police questioning. Baasland tried to make a profit allegedly to pay off debts in Norway.
Baasland has stated that he played knowledge-based sports games provided by the internet companies, Bet363 and Centrebet. He apparently used 30 million on each of the two.
Centrebet will be no means comment on individual players.
However, Hansen can confirm that they have many major customers who play for large amounts.
Follow Australian lawCentrebet is registered in Australia, but has a Norwegian website and Norwegian contact persons. The company automatically follows Australian regulations, and sets no credit limits for net-gamling, according to Hanse.
According to the press release from Bjarte Baasland’s lawyer, Hege Birkeland Ersdal, the borrowed money was transferred from the client’s Norwegian account to Monebookers’ Norwegian account, which in turn transferred the money to Centrevet and Bet365.
Frank Hansen of Centrebet does not wish to comment on the company’s internal alerts system, nor on how this matter affects the company’s reputation.
