The agreement between Bjerkreim municipality’s Dalane Upper Secondary School and Husum-based Bildungszentum für Erneuerbar Energien means the Norwegian school will have a monopoly on certification in the south.
Dalane’s head of section, Frank Emil Moen, tells Aftenbladet by phone from Germany, “We have secured exclusivity for southern Norway. Consequently, those wishing international certification will have to receive their training from us. Similar facilities can be established in mid and northern Norway.”
In return, the school is obliged to secure a wind turbine tower and two turbine housings for training purposes.
BZEE has issued 1,400 international wind turbine technician approval certificates so far. The company is also represented in Ireland, the UK, US, and Canada.
